Film Media in context
the industry promotes through different media platforms print, broadcast and e-media. advertisers chose to promote through these methods as it allows them to reaches a wide range of audiences and different platforms aiming at a different target audience.

Another method is magazines this is an effective method as it allows people to read up on reviews and also see ratings of the movie which give the audience a insight on whether the movie is successful or not and also give them an brief explanation on what the movie is about.

Another method used to promote super 8 is broadcasting which are usually film trailers, interviews on hearing about super 8 on the radio. This is an effective method is used as tv can help reach large audiences of people on a national level in short period of time also can choose which target audience to aim at according to the program being played at that time. Prime time is usually the main time when television reaches its highest viewers therefore a advert during prime time can be very useful to reach a wide audience. In addition it is visual it allows to persuade there audience to watch the movie through sound and sight. However this is an expensive method to advertise, also people are now recording what they chose to watch therefore allowing them to skip advertisements leading to this media platform not being as effective.
The final method is e-media also known as the internet. This is a also a good way to advertise as most of the time it is free, also now with social networking such as facebook and twitter allows the audience be kept up to date with info. In addition anyone can access it 24/7. However not everyone has access to the internet.
Audience is changing their behaviors according to technology as they know use e-media to find out information as is a quick and easy way of gathering information. In addition internet is use has grown dramatically and advertising online will allow reaching most target audiences.

There are different type of genre codes for print such as tabloid newspapers for the working class and broadsheet for the middle class. Super 8 will chose is advertise throught both methods as it will allow them to get a wider target audience and more viewers. Super 8 also promote through magazines where there is more information provided than a newspapers including interviews.the similarities is that both methods are trying to provide extra information for their audience to read up on.
Broadcasting:
the codes and conventions in broadcasting is that will usually offer an exclusive interview alongside clips from the film to show audiences what ype of movie it is also it persuade the audience to come watch the movie through sight and sound. The trailers conventions would be that it provides information on what the movie is about also makes the audience what to see what will happen next. The genre codes for a talk radio, music radio, commercial, PSB the type of radio super 8 is likely to occur on is talk radio as they can be interviews on the cast. Also this would also link to television as super 8 cast are likely to appear on talk shows, in addition trailer used during advertising has to be interesting and attractive so the audience stays engaged and watches the trailer throughout. Similarities in broadcasting is that both methods are trying get viewers to watch the movie by the use of sound and images.

The actors are represented in broadcast through interviews on tv or the radio.interviews on television allow the audience to see how the actor is in real and his true colours, it also allows the audience to ask question which they may want to know the answer to.

E-media

The actors are represented positively across e-media, however fans which do not like a member of the cast for any reason can tweet bad things to the actors etc however this could also be a benefit as by using twitter the public can tweet the actors and be kept up to date on the latest information. In e-media it can also provide information which people may not know such as background info such as the type of family the actors have been raised up in.

the poster of Super 8 with the main characters represents them as the main characters. also makes the characters familiar with the audience and also lets them realise who is in the movie. also familiar actors help the audience know what the movie is about. in addition recognisable characters help promote the film such as a "\Steven Spielberg' movie lets the audience know that the movie will be adventures and will have kids starring he is known for doing this.
